- Scope and ContentFrederick Charles Scott: on 10 November he missed 2 planes from his workshop in Napier Road. He next saw them at Harman’s pawn shop. He valued them at 11s 6d. George Edward Harman: pawnbroker of Park Street, Luton. On 8 November the prisoner brought in 2 planes to pawn in the name of Arthur Scott. The prisoner said they were his father’s and he had sent them. He advanced 4s 6d on them. PC Charles Smith: on 12 November he charged the prisoner with stealing the planes. The prisoner said he had pawned them but had not stolen them. He had pawned them for a man in the street and was promised 5 pence for doing so. Statement of the accused: nothing to say.
