  • Title
COLMWORTH Charge against Geoffrey More and William Coote, churchwardens of Colmworth in 1659, 1660 and 1661 and so under oath to `conserve and keepe safely the goods and utensills... of said church' for seising and taking into their own custody, 1 cup, copper chalice and cover of silver, which they sold for £7. Also during the last 3 to 6 years William Cooper and William King, the Overseers, were householders and so taxable towards the repairs of the Church and so have just cause to complain of Geoffrey and William. It is decreed that Geoffrey and William are to give an account to the said parishioners and to the Archdeaconry officials of their `rash, heady and unjust' actions and they are to give full satisfaction to the parishioners of Colmworth for said cup, chalice and cover. They are also `duely and canonically to bee punished'
