Scope and Content
With respect to part of close adjoining Peartree Hill and Great Styles which they wished to have, he (writer) has no recollection of having seen it. He judged entirely from the map where the improvement to the College's boundary is so obvious that he thought `in the spirit of mutual accommodation' that there would be no objection to part with it. Since however writer has no object other than improvement of College's boundary, he has no objection to leave out this part of his proposal. With respect to rest of exchange is prepared to give up whole of Colleges's 7 acre field with 1 acre or 25 poles and cottages, for Potter's Close, the Three Acre and the open field land and in this case the question of the fence would be avoided. Seems reasonable to him that he at whose request any change is made, should pay the necessary expense. `I shall look upon your reply to this as final'
