to brother Robert £5 and to brother Robert’s son the £5 he owes testator and £12 owed by Rutter;
to the poor of Colme 10s;
to the township of Colme to the making of a floodgate 10s;
to his servants 12d each, and to Ellen 5s;
to the poor of Standgden 10s; to the bells 10s;
to Elizabeth [his wife] £6 13s 4d and all the goods she brought with her;
residue to son Michael if he come home, otherwise to be distributed among his friends.
Executors: brother Robert £3; William Sebley £3; John Brett £3;
Overseer: John Burges 40s;
Brother Johnsonne to have best apparel and 40s to his sister.
His executors are to sell his property in Stacheden, Bromham and Byddenham, and of the money arising £300 to be used to ransom and redeem his son Michael Goldstone “at theys present a presonere and in Captevitye in Barbaria”. When home to be put to a good trade
