- Scope and ContentHerbert Starke: an engineer of 57 Park Street, Luton. He recalled the prisoner calling on 24 September and at several other times, asking for work. From information given by the police he examined his stock of fittings and missed a box containing similar fitting to those produced by the police. They had a value of 22 shillings. They were for bicycle wheels. Joseph Spratley: on 27 September the prisoner came and she he had been looking in his box and found the bicycle fittings produced which he wanted to sell. He gave him 3s 6d for them. William Henry Currell: he found the fittings had been sold to Spratley and took them to Starke to be identified. The prisoner made no reply to the charge.
