    Removal Order for Henry Shelford, a bastard aged about 14 years. Removed from Keysoe to St Benedict, Huntingdon. Order suspended as Henry unable to travel through sickness and infirmity. Noted that Henry Shelford had died since the making of the order. St Benedict to pay Keysoe £3.4.6. 27th June 1846. With bill attached showing medical relief costs and funeral expenses. Certificate of Chargeability by Bedford Board of Guardians certifying that Henry Shelford became chargeable on 9th February 1846. Signed Charles Longuet Higgins, Chairman and Samuel Wing , Clerk. Examination of Samuel Wing producing the following: Settlement examination of Mary Barley of the parish of Keysoe, widow regarding the settlement of Henry Shelford: I am the widow of Robert Barley deceased to whom I was married by my maiden name of Mary Shelford, spinster ten years ago last June in the parish church of Buckden in the County of Huntingdon. I am the mother of Henry Shelford above named. On 15th March 1831 being then a singlewoman I was delivered of him and he was born at the house of Sarah Mayes, widow situate in the parish f St Benedict in the town of Huntingdon in the County of Huntingdon. Soon after the birth of my said child I resided with my father at Buckden and for about 8 months the Overseers of St Benedict aforesaid relieved me with two shillings a week in the account of my said child although I resided in Buckden, when they reduced the relief to 20 pence per week which was continued for some time afterwards, My said son Henry Shelford is now residing with me at Keysoe aforesaid and confined to his bed. He is the person mentione don the Certificate of Chargeability. Memorandum that copies of the above papers were delivered to the Overseers of St Benedict, Huntingdon 25th Feb 1846.
