    Removal order and settlement examination for Emma Cole, born on 17th March 1837 the female illegitimate child of Susannah Cole, spinster, who is of insane mind. Parish of St Pancras in the County of Middlesex to Cople. Copy examination of William Keyse touching the settlement of Emma Cole: I am one of the Overseers of the Parish of St Pancras. I was so for the year 1843. I know Emma Cole aged about 7 years now present as the female child of Susannah Cole, a spinster at present confined as a lunatic by order bearing date 6 April 1844. The said Emma Cole is now actually chargeable to the parish of St Pancras and has not done any act to gain a settlement in her own right. This Examinant further saieth I now produce a certain original order of removal bearing date 26 September 1843 whereby the Overseers and Churchwardens of St Pancraas were ordered to remove Susannah Cole together with her female bastard child the aforesaid Emma Cole now present which was born on the 17 March 1837 to the parish of Cople in the County of Bedford which was adjudged to be the place of the last legal settlement of Susannah Cole, mother of Emma Cole. This Examinant also saieth that notice bearing date 27th September 1843 of Susannah Cole and Emma Cole having become chargeable to the parish of St Pancras. An order of removal having been obtained i did on 27th October 1843 execute the order of removal and remove and convey and deliver them to the Mr John Odell, churchwarden of Cople by whom they were received. Second copy of removal order. Bill to Cople Overseers from St Pancras for 6 shillings and sixpence fro maintenance of Emma Cole from 13 - 26 April 1844.
