    Roll 41b Hall Moot held there on Thursday next before the feast of Pentecost in the xxxjo [31st] year of the reign of king Henry vjo [6th] [17th May 1453] Essoins none Taking land To this Court came John Clerk the younger and took from the lord one toft and x [10] acres of land lately belonging to John Myton, to be held by himself and his assigns according to the customs of the manor, for the terms of their lives, rendering therefrom viijs [8s] paid annually to the lord at the feast of the annunciation of the virgin Mary, and of Saint Michael in equal portions and making fealty to the lord and no heriot after his death or withdrawal. Therefore he is amerced. And he was ordered to sufficiently repair it before the next Lete, under a penalty of half a mark [6s 8d]. And that one tenement called The Legge remains in the hand of the lord [and] is ruined. The bailiff was ordered to provide for the repairs And that the holding lately belonging to the Wyltshires is ruined and John Tyler is ordered by the bailiff to repair the malt-kiln and the building and the room. And William Launcelyn holds one hall in the holding of Walter Wryghtes to repair And that the bailiff pledges for the barn of Randolph Bawdewyn should put right, by the pledge of the bailiff And that the tenement which Nicholas Judde holds is ruined, that is to say the hall and the room and he is to repair them, with the lord to pay And that the holding lately belonging to John Goode is ruined and now John Horn came and undertook to mend it before the next Hall Moot, with the pledge of the bailiff Amercement vjd And that the holding lately held by John Rodland vjd [6d] has not been improved as was ordered above at the last Court. Therefore he is amerced and is ordered not to put them there any more under a penalty of half a mark [6s 8d] And that Thomas Maryon dug in the common at Yreham.
