    Roll 36a Welyngton Court held there on the Monday next before the feast of Saint George in the fourth year of Henry the sixth after the conquest [April 22nd 1426] Tithing men John Miton Thomas Starlyng Robert Fesant John Gabriell John Trekat John Bande younger John Rodeland John Palmer William Taillour William Starlyng Robert Partrich’ William Wryghte’ Herriot valued at vjs viijd [6s 8d] was ordered The sworn men present that John Ridere, the lord’s villein, who held from the lord one messuage and half a virgate of land died about the last preceding feast of Saint Mathew the Apostle and one cow valued at vjs viijd [6s 8d] is given to the lord as herriot. And that Felicia, wife of the said John occupies the said messuage and land with the lord’s permission and she gives him nothing for scutage, until he is provided with a better tenant Penalty pending Also John Kempston has not mended all the enclosures of the lord’s woods, therefore the penalty above of Cs [100s] is incurred. And he is ordered to well and sufficiently make amends before the feast of Easter next in the future under the aforesaid penalty and the aforesaid penalty was referred until the same feast by the steward. Sale of wood Also that Richard Faux sold from various places in the lord’s wood.
