    Wylyton’ Court held there in the Friday of Easter week in the xvijo [17th] year of the reign of king Richard the second [24th. April 1394] Heriot j [1] bull-calf worth iijs iiijd [3s 4d], premium viijd [8d] John Starlyng the younger surrendered into the hands of the lord, through the hand of William Pecke the bailiff, j [1] messuage and x [10] acres of land and a heriot of one bull calf, valued at xld [40d] falls due to the lord as heriot. And afterwards Thomas Starlyng came and took the said tenement from the lord, to be held through the court roll, at the will of the lord, rendering and making annually the same rent and services just as his father John customarily rendered and made. And he gave a premium to the lord of viijd [8d] through the pledges of John Ridere, Richard Yarwey and Adam Cartere. Heriot of j [I] ewe with j [1] lamb valued at xviijd [18d] premium xijd [12d] John Bolteby who held one messuage [and] eight acres of land from the lord in bondage, closed the days of his existence. After whose death a new heriot of one ewe with one suckling lamb valued at xviijd [18d], falls due to the lord. And to this court came John Waryner and took the said tenement from the lord, to be held in bondage, through the court roll, for the term of his life and of Agnes his wife, rendering and making annually just as the said John Bolteby customarily rendered and made, through the pledges of Thomas Myton and John Waryner and he gave xijd [12d] to the lord as premium. Heriot j [1] pan xijd [12d] John Starlyng the elder who held j [1] messuage and x [10] acres of land from the lord in bondage has closed the days of his being. After whose death a new heriot of j [1] platter valued at xijd [12d] falls due to the lord. And to this court came Editha, wife of the said John, and claimed to hold the said holding for the term of her life, according to the custom of the manor, rendering and making annually just as the said [John] was accustomed to make. And the aforesaid Editha was given a day to show sufficent security at the next court for the sufficient repairs of the said holding under penalty of forfeiture. Heriot vjd [6d] premium fine vjd [6d] John Ory who held half of one toft with v [5] acres of land from the lord in bondage, surrendered the aforesaid holding into the hands of the lord and a new heriot of vjd [6d] falls due to the lord as heriot. And to this court came William Freynsche and took the aforesaid holding from the lord, to be held through the court roll, at the will of the lord, rendering and making to the lord annually, just as John Ory customarily rendered and made and he gave vjd [6d] as premium to the lord. Grant Richard Fesaunt surrendered a certain parcel of land of the demesne of the manor into the hand of the lord And afterwards the lord granted the aforesaid parcel of land to John Rydere and John Gaubriel, to hold for the term of their lives, at the will of the lord, paying xxxijs ijd [32s 2d] to the lord each year. The homage presents that Penalties Thomas Taillour, Edward Tailour, John Berde and John Wattes hold from the lord in bondage and have ruined and defective houses. They are given days until the next [court] to repair and mend these under penalty of forfeiture. Amercements xiiijd [14d] Also it is presented that Adam iiijd [4d] Warde cut down and took away thorn bushes growing on the waste land of the vill Also that Adam ijd [2d] Warde trespassed in the lord's wood with calves and colts, and Thomas ijd [2d] Stacy with animals. Also that Nicholas iiijd [4d] Watte, John jd [1d] Gaubriel, Edward jd [1d] Tailor trespassed in the wood sited [at?] the Sprynl etc. Enquiry Also that Robert Kemp was accused of hunting in the lord's Warren and killing and carrying away one hare etc. and the said Robert was present in court and said that he was not guilty and asked for a better inquiry at the next [court] and he was given a day etc. Assessors of fines: John Cartere, John Southmuln Total jxs viijd [9s 8d] with heriot and entry fines as above.
