    Probate of will of George Greene of Elstow - commends his soul to God “hopeing to bee saved by the onely & All suffient merritts of Jesus Christ my Saviour & by noe other name or meanes whatsoever”; - bequeaths to his son George Greene all houses, cottages, pasture grounds, lands and meadow in the parish of Elstow; - also bequeaths to his son George £100, one “joined” bed with all its furniture and bedding, one table and frame, one cupboard and one great chest; - to his son Henry Greene all his house, land, pasture, ground and meadow in the parish of Cardington; - also to his son Henry £100; - to his son Matthew Greene his 2 cottages and tenements in the parish of Cople; - also to his son Matthew £100; - his wife so long as she remains unmarried to have the rents of the said lands and moneys towards the upbringing and education of his three children until they reach age 21; - if any of his children should die before reaching this age his portion to be divided between the survivors; - if his wife remarries his sons to enter into the property and money immediately - all remaining goods and chattels bequeathed to his wife Hanna; - wife Hanna appointed executrix; - Samewell Ballard and Thomas Gray appointed overseers of the will; - witnesses: William Scarlit; Thomas Windmill; Elizabeth Fukes - proved 22 May 1686
