- projections of numbers at the three area Middle Schools (Etonbury, Arlesey; Robert Bloomfield, Shefford; and Henlow Voluntary Controlled) by feeder Lower School 1971-1981 and projected numbers at new Shefford Upper School (Samuel Whitbread Upper School, Clifton) by feeder Middle School, 1973-1983 [1972]; - Draft Detailed Proposals for Implementation of Reorganisation in Area 6 [Feb 1972]; - press notices regarding parents’ opportunity to comment on the reorganisation and of postponement of the public meeting due to power cuts, the latter with a press notice regarding help for the elderly and handicapped during the fuel crisis on the back [1972]; - notes of a meeting with teachers in Area 6 [1972]; - notes of a meeting with school governors and managers in Area 6 [1972]; - correspondence from parents enquiring about or commenting on the proposed reorganisation; - notes of two public meetings in Area 6 [1972]; - letter from a parent concerned at apathy towards science and lack of laboratory facilities at schools [1972]; - Information for Parents booklet [September 1972 but updated in pen at January 1973]; - notes of meeting of officers to discuss reorganisation proposals in Areas 5, 6 and 7 [1972]; - considerable correspondence from Carola Carr-Brion regarding the education of her sons, specifically worries over sending them to Robert Bloomfield Middle School, Shefford which she declared to have a poor reputation and which was about to introduce mixed ability teaching; also her concerns over facilities at the school and her perception that it was unfair that other children from the same village would be going to a different Middle School because they had attended a different Lower School [1972]; - list of County Primary School schools in the Area, under Section 13(4) of the Education Act 1944, significantly changing their character [1973]; - complaint by the headmistress of Lower Stondon Lower School regarding uncertainty about which Middle School children were to transfer to [1975].
