- Scope and ContentArthur Horsler: a grocer of Houghton Regis. He lost a whip on 22 January, last seeing it that evening on his cart. The cart had been against Dr Murphy’s surgery in High Street North in Dunstable. He had left the cart unattended to go to Dr Murphy and missed the whip when he got in the cart again. He knew the prisoner by sight and was able to identify the whip when it was shown to him. William Allen Thody: the prisoner was apprehended on 22 January on a charge of stealing 5 fowls. He had a whip in his possession which he was asked to account for. He said it belonged to Mr Abraham’s but Mr Abrahams said it did not. Statement of the accused: he found the whip.
