    (i) Thomas Ayres of Sandy, farmer, John Arch of Shefford, draper, Thomas Barber of Shefford, innkeeper, Joseph Ibbs of Shefford, tanner; (ii) James Bower of Shefford, tanner, and wife Mary, nephew and heir of Thomas Bower late of Shefford, tanner, deceased.; (iii) John Phipps of Sheford, brewer; (iv) Richard Gresham of Chicksands, gent. --1rood 15 poles arable land in Clifton in Shefford field, between the land of Lord Ongley in the occupation of John Arch junior east, and of Ann Wilkinson, widow in the occupation of Robert Endersby west, abutting north on Clifton common and south on Hitchin turnpike road. Recites (A) Fine: Joseph Cole, gent. and said Thomas Bower by the name of Thomas Bower junior -- A messuage, cottage, barn, tanhouse, etc., 20 acres land and common of pasture in Shefford, Clifton and Southill. 1771. (B) Conveyance (Lease and Release); James Bower to Thomas Ayres, John Arch, Thomas Barber and Joseph Ibbs. --The lands of James Bower in Shefford. 29,30 June 1802.
