Examination of Charlotte Brampton: I am now residing in Gravel Lane in the parish of St Paul in this borough and am now actually chargeable to that parish. My maiden name was Charlotte Thody. Seventeen years ago a little before Easter I was married at the parish church of Willington in this County to my late husband Thomas Brampton by whom I have three children all of whom are now living viz Joseph aged 16 years, Frances aged 13 years and Emma aged 11 years. My daughters Frances and Emma are now living with me and are chargeable to the said parish of St Paul. Joseph does not live with me. Five years ago last April my late husband with myself and family were residing at Cotton End in the township of Eastcotts in teh parish of Cardington in this County and we the became chargeable to that parish and we were then removed by the Order of two Justices of this county to the parish of Great Staughton in the County of Huntingdon. Mr William Preston one of the Overseers then living at Cotton End conveyed my late husband, myself and my said three children to the parish of Great Staughton. In consequence of an arrangement made between Mr Prestonand the overseers of Great Staughton we returned to Cotton End and from that time for nine weeks whilst living at Cotton end received an allowance from the parish officers of Great Staughton of three shillings and six loaves a week. My husband died three weeks ago last tuesday and was buried at Cople in this County.
