    Certificate of Samuel Wing, Clerk to the Board of Guardiand of Bedford Union, verifying the following document 31 December 1842. Statement of William Swannell, Overseer of Kempston that Sophia Redman otherwise called Sophia Peck was chargeable to the parish. Examination of Samuel Wing, Clerk to the Board of Guardian of Bedford Union verifying the above: I also produce an extract from the Register of baptisms of the Parish of Cardington by which it appears that Sophia the illegitimate child of George Redman and Ann Peck was baptised in the parish of Cardington 13th July 1821. I have examinedthe extract with the original register and it is a true copy. Examination of Sophia Redman otherwise Peck; I am about 21 years of age and am a singlewoman. I have done no act to the best of my knowledge to gain a settlement in my own right. I am the person referred to in the certificate of chargeability produced by Mr Samuel Wing. Examination of Ann Middleton: The above named Sophia Redman otherwise called Sophia Peck is the person referred to in the certificate of baptism now produced. In the summer of the year 1821 Ann Peck, singlewoman since deceased was in my presence delivered of her teh said pauper at the dwelling house of her the said Ann Peck in the parish of Cardington in the County of Bedford.
