    William Spendlove of Leighton Buzzard, draper – on 14 November between 5 and 6pm Collier came to his shop and said he wanted a suit of black clothes. Collier said Mr Truman of Wing had sent him for them and would pay him on Thursday. Mr Truman is a customer of his. He reached down some black clothes to supply Collier. He asked if Mr Truman sent him and Collier said “yes”. He asked if Collier had brought any order. Collier said “no, Mr Truman is ill”. He refused to supply Collier without an order. Soon after Mr Weild came to his shop and he understood from him that Collier had been to his shop on a similar errand. George Truman of Wing (Bucks), brickmaker – he knows George Collier. Collier has worked for him but not for the last 3 or 4 years. He deals occasionally at Mr Spendlove’s shop. He has never sent Collier there for a suit of clothes. He does not recollect seeing Collier since last summer. George Collier – he does not wish to say anything
