- Scope and ContentJames Sugars of Cotton End in Cardington, shoemaker – on 30 August he lost a waistcoat from Robert Cambers’ mill yard or house. Last Wednesday he said to the accused “Jack you have got my waistcoat as well as the shirt”. Barnard swore he knew nothing of it. Yesterday afternoon Mr Graham brought the waistcoat to him at Mr Cambers’. Barnard worked with him the afternoon he missed his waistcoat. William Byers Graham, superintendent of police – yesterday Barnard was with him at Cotton End and pointed out a place in a hedge in Mr Cambers’ field where he had put a waistcoat and a shirt. George Barnard – he is guilty. He is very sorry he did it.
