NB Lady Fowler was Alice Janet Clive daughter of Sir Edward Clive Bayley K.C.S.I she died 20 October 1923. Her husband Sir John Arthur Fowler of Braemore died 25 March 1899.

daughter went to Scotland and Yorkshire and writer to Shropshire and Wales but called away to look after various sisters
her sister Lady Fowler died on 2 October in Edinburgh - heart failure after an operation
her two sons were killed in the War 2 daughters died sometime before that
"very very glad to go" but "passing of a very beautiful soul" daughter spent time in July with her in Inverness
eldest sister - unmarried - lives at Trokes Head
Gartlakes getting very old and worn feel they will "work, work, to the last"
getting things sorted out here - new tennis lawn made - extending new kitchen garden
Son or Empress of India at Malta - trip to Alexandria and Cairo, will miss Luxor and Tutunkhamen's tomb
paying guests very successful, asks _4.4s, not gentlemen "they require a much more elaborate cuisine than I can supply"
no paying guests after 1 June, as like to keep that month for own friends and relations
praises parson, doctor and excellent new organist
