  • Scope and Content
    Examination of John Onion. I am about 25 years of age and am now actually chargeable to the parish of Riseley. I have done no act to my knowledge to gain a settlement in my own right. I was married 31st january 1836 in the parish church of Riseley to Ann King, spinster my present wife by whom I have two children Charles aged 5 years and Robert aged two years. Examination of Ann Stokes: I am the mother of John Onion and on 21 March 1817 being then a widow was delievered of him at the house of Timothy Gillett, deceased in the parish of Bolnhurst. My first husband William Onion had been dead about ten years before the birth. He was a settled inhabitant of Bolnhurst. Before I was confined I was removed by orders from Keysoe to Bolnhurst. The orders wasn't appealed against. I received relief for ten years on account of my son from Bolnhurst parish. Thomas Meacher of Keysoe was the father of the child No order of filiation was made.
