  • Scope and Content
Examination of Thomas Pitts of Hunslet: I am the lawful son of WIlliam Pitts now deceased. I have three sisters by the same father all born in lawful wedlock in the parish of Great Barford in the County of Bedford namely Jane aged 14 years, Mary Anne aged 10 years and Rebecca aged 7 years, none of whom has done any act to gain a settlement for herself. I have been informed and believe that my said father was born in Great Barford and that it continued to be the last place of his lawful settlement until he died which happened in June last. The Overseers of the Poor of the said parish of Great Barford relieved and acknowledged my said father about five years and a half ago and before that several times. They provided for him in a towns house at Great Barford which he occupied until January last as a pauper of that parish. My said three sisters are now residing in and chargeable to the township of Hunslet. Two copies of Removal order.
