- Scope and ContentExamination of Francis Cummins: I was bound apprentice by Indenture dated 25 August 1826 to Thomas Lewis of the parish of St John, Horsley Down, Borough of Southwark in the County of Surrey, pipemaker, for seven years. I served under my Indenture and lodged during the whole term of my apprenticeship in the said parish of St John, Horsley Down. I was married on 23 December1838 at St Paul's Church, Sheffield, Yorkshire to my wife Elizabeth (then Elizabeth Townsend) by whom I have two children now living - William aged two years and Mary Ann aged three months. i and my wife and children are now actually chargeable to the said parish of St Paul, Bedford. I have lost my indentures of apprenticeship.
