    Mary Gear, wife of John Gear of Ravensden, labourer – she had her sister in to wash for her at Ravensden on 6 September. She hung the clothes out all night. At 5am they were alright. At 4pm she missed 3 sheets and a table cloth. Two of the sheets produced are two of those she missed. Samuel Armstrong of Thurleigh, labourer – on Wednesday morning 7 September at about 5.40am he saw the accused about 14 chains from Mrs Gear’s house carrying a white bundle. He was on the road from Thurleigh to Ravensden. Ebenezer Cain of St Cuthbert, Bedford, police constable – the 2 sheets he produces were delivered to him by Mr King the lodge keeper at the prison last Friday week. He apprehended Hall that day. She said she had bought them that day for 2s. Sarah Rogers of St Paul Bedford, prison warder – she took Hall to bath at the prison on 10 September. Hall said she had a pair of sheets she had bought from a man. She had one sheet in each pocket. They were very damp. She took them from Hall.
