- Production dateFrom: 1840 To: 1840
- Scope and ContentI am about 24 years of age. At Potton statute 1829 (which is held a little before Michaelmas) I bargained with Mr Lenton a farmer at Woodbury in the parish of Gamlingay in the County of Cambridge to serve him for a year from the following Michaelmas as household servant at the wages of £.10.0. My mother was present when the bargain was made and approved of it. I enetered the service as agreed on Old Michaelmas Day 1829 and continued in the same service one whole year and at the years end received my wages. I slept during the whole years service in the parish of Gamlingay. I have done no other act to my knowledge to gain any other settlement and am now actually chargeable to the parish of Great Barford.
