    Examination of John Wooding now residing at no.8 Mills Court, Curtain Road, Shoreditch. He is about 30 years of age, hath not done any act to gain a settlment in his own right by apprenticeship, servitude renting or otherwise. He hath a wife named Elizabeth to whom he was married in the parish church of St George, Southwark about 12 years ago, and by her hath four children (lawful issue) namely Selina aged about 9 years, James about 5 years, Mary about 4 years and Ann about 2 years. His said wife is very ill and cannot with safety be removed and Examinant is now out of employ, in distress and chargeable to the parish of St leonard, Shoreditch. The Examination of Simon Wooding now living at no.37 Pool Street, Hoxton, Shoreditch, touching the settlement of his son John Wooding: He was married to Elizabeth his wife in the parish church of Turvey in April 1804 and had issue of such marriage a son (the above named john) who was born in the parish of Turvey aforesaid.. His son never did any act to gain a settlement in his own right to Examinant's knowledge. On or about 13th June 1803 he (this Examinant) was bound apprentice to his father James Wooding of the parish of Turvey aforesaid, cordwainer for seven years and by virtue of such binding he lived with and served his said Master and father there the whole of the said term. He the Examinant also acquired a settlement in the said parish by serving the office of Sexton for 2 years and residing in that parish during that period. Removal suspended 5th February and then executed on 24th April 1839.
