Not had reply to last letter, requesting him to give Amos 'the little hut lives in on the Estate' - always considered his own; given over to him by Manager James Pearle in lieu of a larger Thatch'd one; had no paper for it, title recognised by every other manager till present one, Isaac Sayers, who says it is the Estate's property. Amos, now 80 very feeble and poor, begs the hut for himself and
his wife after he dies, faithfully served him since childhood 'even after freedom'. Beg gift of old cloak to keep aged frame warm.
