- Scope and ContentSettlement Examination: She is about the age of 40 and was born in Worfield, in the County of Salop. Her late husband died at Bilston on 22nd day of August last and at the time of his death he belonged to the parish of Elstow in the County of Bedford and derived his settlement there from that of his father. About four years ago she and her said late husband were in the poor house of Elstow for several months and supported there at the expense of the parish officers there. When the trade got better her and her said late husband left the workhouse and the Overseers gave him three or four pounds to convey him and his family to where he had obtained work. She was married to her said late husband at the parish church of Kinfare in the County of Stafford twenty years ago. Her said late husband had not since his birth done ant other act to gain a settlement. She is now become chargeable to the township of Bilston. She has five children by her said late husband namely Mary Ann aged about 15 years, Sarah aged about 12 years, Charles aged about 10 years, Eliza aged about 4 years and Thomas aged about 2 years.
