    James Parrot of Lower Stondon in Shillington – he lives with James Angel. He was in James Angel’s houses on Saturday 12 August about 8pm and saw Francis Chapman and two more young men come up to the front door. He saw Chapman leave the other two at the door and go towards the garden. He went into the garden and hid himself. He saw Chapman help himself to apples from the trees and then take the potato fork and carry it out of the garden. He saw his uncle come out of the house. Chapman also saw his uncle coming. Chapman immediately dropped the fork and joined his companions at the front door. They walked away. Francis Chapman – they were all three very tipsy when they went in. He is sure he never took the fork.
