- Scope and ContentGeorge Masters: the prisoner came to him on 16 April and said he needed 3 and a half pounds of mutton for Mr Crosely and that Mrs Crosely was ill. Mr Crosely wanted the neck to make broth for Mrs Crosely. She was Master’s sister. The prisoner said he was in Mr Crosely's service. Masters gave him the mutton. A few days later he told Mr Crosely had had given the boy the mutton. He said he knew nothing of it and the boy had not worked for him for some time.Statement of the accused: he said he did what Mr Masters said and could not deny it.
