Settlement appeal - Bassingbourn (Cambs) vs. Luton re settlement of Phoebe Ellis, a poor person deemed to be insane and to be conveyed to the County Lunatic Asylum at Bedford, for whom Bassingbourn and Royston Union have been ordered by pay £1 for expenses of conveying her to the Asylum and 9s per week for her upkeep. Ordered on grounds of informality in the form of the examination upon which the order is founded that the order be quashed. Parish of Luton to pay £20 9s 10d costs to appellants.
