Letter to the Marquess of Anglesey from P Griffith-Jones Esq, Southwold, Suffolk. Heard the Marquess on the radio discussing the history of the South African War he was writing. Mr Griffith-Jones offers the typescript copy he has of the diary of his Uncle Philip Astell Jones, 8th Hussars, South Africa, killed in action 13 October 1900. He encloses two prints of the site and cuttings dealing with earlier actions [refs. Z1477/1/13 – 14 and Z1477/2/3-4].
