- Scope and ContentWilliam Gamby: lived at Barton and had a workshop at Higham Gobion. On 6 November he saw George Peck in his shop. The same evening he missed a gun lock. It had been safe in the morning. He had the lock to repair and had not completed the job. Joseph Hutchins: lived at Barton and was a blacksmith. He bought a gun lock from George Peck, but he was not sure on what day of the week. Thomas Brooker: for information received he went to Joseph Hutchins and asked if he had bought a gun lock. He said he had and gave it to him. He said he had bought it from George Peck. Brooker went to the prisoners at Barton and asked if he had lately sold a gun lock to Hutchins. He said he had. Asked where he got it from, he said he found it in Mr Marks field at Barton the day after he had been in Gamby's shop. Told he was being taken into custody, Peck said he would give Gamby 5 pound if he would forgive him.
