Folio.154 John Gudgeon of Hawnes [Haynes]. Settlement examination.

He is 21 years of age, was born in Maulden. His father John Gudgeon was a farmer in the said parish and was a parishioner of that place. At Michaelmas 1812 he let himself to his father as a servant in husbandry at Hawnes [Haynes] and has continued with him ever since. The first year his wage was ten pounds and the two last years eleven pounds each all of which he has received. He has not done any other act to the best of his knowledge to gain a settlement. Yesterday he was married to his now wife Martha Smith at St Paul, Bedford.
