- Scope and ContentHe is 27 years of age, was never an apprentice nor ever lived a year in any service until he let himself to Mr Joseph Balls of Wilshamstead, farmer, at Ampthill Statute in 1804 for a year at the wages of six pounds six shillings. He went into such service as plough boy a day or two after Old Michaelmas Day 1804 and continued therein until Old Michaelmas Day 1805 when he quitted the same and received the whole of his wages. He has never done any other act whereby to gain a settlement to the best of his knowledge. He was married to his now wife Charlotte at St Paul, Bedford 31May 1813
