- Scope and ContentShe was married to her husband William Halfhead at St John, Bedford, 7 April 1812. She has often heard her husband say that he belonged to the parish of Hawnes [Haynes], and obtained his settlement there by a hiring and service. She has received relief of one shilling per week for about a twelvemonth from the parish of Hawnes during the time of her residence in Bedford as the wife of William Halfhead and until the month of August last. Annotated: I hereby sertify that the above named Sarah Halfhead is by reason of illness and infirmity incapable to being brought up to a Petty Session to be examined as to her settlement and that I have personally visited her and taken the above examination on oath.
