- Scope and ContentWilliam Bray: a hawker and shopkeeper of Clifton. Jesse Bunyan worked and lodged with him. He had reason to suspect Bunyan of taking money out of the cupboard. On 3 November he marked a shilling, 3 sixpences, a four penny piece and 3 penny pieces and put them in the cupboard. On the following morning, he went to the cupboard and missed a sixpence, the four penny and 3 penny pieces. He took Bunyan to Shefford and gave him into custody. Reuben Pepper: the prisoner was given into his custody by William Bray on the charge of stealing money. On searching him he found a purse containing the sixpence, four penny and the 2 penny pieces.
