He is about 33 years of age, was born in Brightwell, Suffolk. He lived in several places as a hired servant and he let himself for a year to Mr Box of Rowdham, County of Norfolk, farmer about a month after Michaelmas 1794 at six pounds a year wages. He continued in such service until Michaelmas 1797, he had seven pounds wages for the last year. In the month of August following he enlisted in the 4th regiment or Queens Own Dragoons and has not done any act since whereby to gain a settlement. He was married to his present wife Sarah at Canterbury in Kent by whom he has two children James aged two years and eight months and Mary Jane aged about 8 months.
