- Scope and ContentHe is about 27 years of age, was born in St Cuthbert, Bedford where his father Abraham Philips lived under a Certificate from Flitwick. He lived and worked with his father at his fathers trade as a whitesmith but was not an apprentice or hired servant. He has not done any act to the best of his knowledge or belief whereby to gain a settlement in his own right. He was married at St Paul, Bedford about Easter 1806 to his present wife Esther by whom he has two children Elizabeth aged two years and a half and Sarah aged six weeks.
