Title
Records of Old Farm, Totternhoe, later the Old Farm Inn. Abstract of the title of Mrs Martha Drayton and Miss Maria Hunt to property at Totternhoe and Eaton bray 'being such parts of the premises comprised in Lots 15 to 59 inclusive as are the freeholds purchased by Thomas Munn', dating from 28 and 29 September 1773 to 8 June 1838.
With Note 'The Old farm and the adjoining field (tithe 50 and 51 were sold as Lot 15 to Mr Alfred Gurney in Oct. 1859. The remainder of the land belonging to the farm was sold to another buyer. The original documents from which this abstract of title is taken went to Mr John Twidell, as buyer of the largest property in the sale. They are already in the CRO as BW305, 307 and 309 as the property was later sold to the Ashridge Estate. It is likely that the Old farm is the property described p. 21 of the abstract as the 'Messe, cottage or tenement which was formerly occupied by William Snoxall afterwards by Thomas Fawson..' with several pieces and parcels of arable land...containing by estimation forty acres...' The Old farm did not become a public house until several years later probably 1869
