- Scope and Contenthe had been in the dancing booth, hawking nuts. He saw the prosecutor there having some ginger beer. He went and offered him nuts; as he walked away he saw a handkerchief on the ground. He picked it up and put it in his smock pocket. 2 minutes later, Allen accused him of taking the handkerchief. He told Allen he could have it if he had it. He firstly sent a boy to fetch his smock and then went himself to fetch it. Allen recognized the handkerchief and took it.
