- Scope and ContentBorn at Cranford, Northants, where father John Beal was a parishioner. Father subsequently rented a farm, at an annual rent of £100 at Weedon Beck Northants, from Mr. Bletsoe, Harrold, and lived at Weedon Beck for many years. About 40 years ago, examinant had lived, as a yearly servant, with William Slipwell, Thrup [?], Northants, for 1 year, following which, being then under the age of 21 years and unmarried, he resided with his father at Weedon Beck for many years. Subsequently lived at Carlton for about 24 years under a Certificate from Weedon Beck, owning him and his family to be their parishioners. No other settlement. One son and one daughter by his late wife: Thomas, now in the Army, and Frances, currently in service. Remarried, at St. Peter’s 9 October 1798 to Elizabeth Grant.
