Born at Cherry Orton, Hunts. Now aged about 32 years. About 1780 let himself for 1 year as a servant in husbandry to William Chapman, Farcet, Hunts, farmer, serving Chapman for a year and receiving a year’s wages. Then enlisted in the Marines and remained in that Corps for 2 years until it was reduced. In 1784 enlisted into the 14th Regiment of Foot, remaining in that Regiment ever since. No other settlement. Married Elizabeth, spinster, at Elton, Hunts, about Christmas 1795. One child: Sarah, aged 5 weeks.
