- Scope and ContentBorn at St. Paul’s where father Joseph Jordan was a parishioner. Bound apprentice by Bedford Charity to Matthew Dalton, Silsoe, cordwainer, about 1769 for 7 years, serving at Silsoe, at conclusion of which he received the Benefaction. Enlisted in the Army about one and a half years after expiry of apprenticeship, served 14 years and 10 months, and was discharged 31 October 1791. Married Elizabeth, spinster, at St. Paul’s, about July 1792.
