- Scope and ContentBorn at St. Paul’s, where father John Wales was a parishioner. Bound apprentice by Bedford Charity to Thomas Dow, Gamlingay, Cambs., cordwainer, in about 1776 for 7 years, serving for whole of that period. Immediately on completing his apprenticeship, he enlisted in the Army but was now discharged. No other settlement. Married Sarah at Kingston, Portsea, Hants about 1790. No children.
