- Scope and ContentI was born in the parish of Dean on 23rd June 1818 and am the son of Joseph Palmer of Dean, grocer, and Sarah his wife. In the month of April 1830 I was bound apprentice by Indentures to Francis Spicer of Dean, tailor for the term of six years. I served Francis Spicer under the said Indentures and resided with him in his house in Dean for the whole of the said term. On Lady Day last I hired a house of Mr Charles Packwood of Rushden situate in Riseley at the rent of ten pounds per annum which I still occupy. I was married on 10th October instant at the parish church of St Paul, Bedford to Elizabeth Stewart of St Paul, spinster.
