Scope and Content
From information obtained from my mother I was 19 years of age the 21st October last and am the illegitimate child of Zilpher Plummer late of Stopsley, Luton, spinster but now the wife of Gabriel Ellingham of Luton, straw hat manufacturer to whom she was married when I was about two years old. I was born in the hamlet of Stopsley and have resided with my mother and her husband since her marriage up to the present time and have learnt the business of the said Gabriel Ellingham but was never apprenticed to him. I was married on 10th April instant at the parish church of Luton to Charlotte Stokes of Luton, spinster.
