Scope and Content
I was 20 years of age the 21st September last and am the son of Thomas Marks, of Pertenhall, carpenter and farmer, and Mary his wife, formerly Mary Gillett, spinster who were married at the parish church of Pertenhall about 1821. My father has occupied a farm and premises at Pertenhall for th last two years at a rental exceeding fifty pounds per annum. I have done no act to gain a settlement in my own right. I was married on Friday last the 6th January instant at the parish church of Pertenhall to Rosamund Jordan of St Paul, Bedford.
