  • Scope and Content
Reciting that Theed Pearse, late of Bedford, esquire, deceased, was entitled to property in Marston Moretaine (128 acres 28 perches) in the occupation of Thomas Gudgin and which is described in the schedule. He made his will dated 15 August 1843 by which he appointed his sons, (i), as executors and trustees. All real estate devised to sons on trust, i.e. if Theed Pearse should be desirous of taking his said real estate, and should give 6 months notice, and make adequate payment, then said estate should go to use of said son. Theed Pearse died on 24 September 1847. Will proved (Prerogative Court of Canterbury) on 12 October 1847. (i) could not agree among themselves as to nomination of valuer for the property. On 9 October 1847 they appointed Mr Thomas Bloodworth of Kimbolton, Huntingdonshire, surveyor, and Mr Samuel Swaffield of Ampthill to value property as in schedule. Said valuers valued property, on 20 November 1847, as £3627 7s. Value of standing timber etc as £306 13s (total £3934). By memorandum of (ii) dated 20 November 1847, he elected to take property at this valuation, and this was accepted by other trustees as notice of his intent, which sum has been paid.
