- Scope and ContentI am 21 years of age. About 8 years ago this summer I let myself as a groom to Mr John Peter Sowers the present Member for Slip for 1 guinea a week boarding myself until I met with a better place. I served him under that hiring about a year but not more and then let myself to him for a year atthe fixed wages of ten guineas and one guinea a week board wage. I remained in his service upwards of two years under the second hiring., During the first part of my service I slept in the parish of St James, Westminster and during the last two years in the parish of St Martin in the Fields. I have done no act since to gain any other settlement. I was married on Monday the 6th instant to Elizabeth Perkins of King Street, Golden Square, London.
