- Scope and ContentI am about 27 years of age, was born as I have been informed and believe in St Peter, Bedford. Between the age of 14 and 15 I was aprenticed by the trustees of the Bedford Charity by Indenture to Thomas Hewlett of St Sepulchre, Northampton for seven years and served under my indentures and lodged during the whole term in St Sepulchre. On the fourth of April last I hired a house in Greyfriars Walk, St Paul, Bedford of Mr Weston of Biggleswade to hold from the fourth of May instant for a year by the yearly rent of ten pounds clear of all taxes and I entered upon the house on that day and and am now in the occupation thereof. Since the expiration of my apprenticeship I have done no other act to my knowledge to gain any other settlement. I was married on the twentieth of May instant at St Peter, Bedford to Elizabeth Teedon.
